Nicki Fell of Berlin, Md., and RC Evans Jr. of Ocean View met in 2007 through mutual friends. RC proposed as they shared a romantic picnic in the park while they were vacationing in San Francisco. The couple married on Oct. 8, 2011, on Deauville Beach just north of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. Their special day began with coffee, tea and mimosas at the childhood home of the mother of the groom on Virginia Avenue in Rehoboth. “We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day, with 70-degree temperatures, a light breeze, dolphins diving in the ocean, the brilliant blue ocean and the sound of the surf rolling up on the shore,” says Nicki. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple stood on the beach and exchanged vows. After a brief stop for photographs on the boardwalk, the bride and groom were driven to the reception at the Baycenter in Dewey Beach by the groom’s father in his 1959 Chevrolet. The breathtaking view of Rehoboth Bay at sunset created a romantic ambiance and the perfect setting for a dream reception. The lighthouse centerpieces and other decorations were made by the mother of the bride. The beach-themed wedding cake was topped with white chocolate starfish and shells. The memories created throughout the day are those that will be cherished for a lifetime.
