“I think we are going to see a lot of the romantic, soft, and very blended looks,” says makeup artist Kristina Ruggerio, whose Wilmington beauty businesses help many a bride get ready for their Big Day. Here are her top tips.

For pretty makeup, healthy skin is essential. Strive for that glass-skin effect with routine treatments starting six months before your wedding. A diffused, smoke-out lid using a gorgeous pewter, chocolate brown, or even a gorgeous gray is going to be stunning paired with a healthy lip color. My personal favorite for brides is a satin-type finish—versus matte or high gloss—which looks elegant and stays in place. If you love a high gloss, just make sure your new husband doesn’t mind being covered in it too!
