Heather and Dj Silicato have close ties to Harrington Raceway & Casino and the adjacent state fairgrounds, so it made perfect sense for them to hold their wedding reception at the casino’s Gold Room. You could say it was a safe bet, considering Dj is the casino’s director of food and beverage and Heather’s father is on the State Fair’s board. “We felt it was appropriate to get married there,” Heather says. “All the staff members are like family. It was a normal reception, but at a place near and dear to our hearts.” The couple not only met at the casino, but hosted a cocktail party on the roof. That’s when Dj popped the question via a sign positioned along the harness racetrack. They married Aug. 16, 2014, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrington and honeymooned in the Bahamas.
