The team at Delaware/Main Line Bride recently got to have a little celebration of its own. In May, we attended the Delaware Press Association’s annual Communications Contest banquet, where we received first-place awards for not one, but two of our magazines—our 2016 spring/summer issue and 2016 fall/winter issue. We decided to try our luck again and enter both issues in the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest, which encourages and rewards excellence in communications in a wide range of categories. We waited for almost four months until the results arrived via email: first place. The judges had this to say about Delaware/Main Line Bride:
“Visually-stunning photography and a strong, cohesive design make these publications a must for brides. It’s also a must for those who flip through the pages and are either dreaming of being a bride or wishing they could have had that ring, dress, locale, etc. back when the reader celebrated her own wedding. The appeal stretches beyond brides, though, as the groom and even family pets are not forgotten. Headlines such as ‘Brows that Wow’ add an element of fun as well. Nicely done!”
As thrilled and overjoyed as we all are about our recent accomplishments, we soon realized two things: We must be doing something right, and, we need to keep on giving brides-to-be the hottest fashion, advice, inspiration and planning tips that they need and crave. I think this issue has it all, and then some.
Recently engaged? Then be sure to choose the perfect nail polish color to show off your engagement ring. (You can’t post an engagement ring selfie before you read this!) There are also tons of gorgeous gowns to drool over (for hourglass, tall, apple- and pear-shaped body types) as well as three local weddings (here, here and here).
And if there is anything we missed this time around, please give me a shout at dfriedman@delawaretoday.com.
Congratulations to you all, and happy planning.
